15th Asian Community of Glycoscience and Glycotechnology (ACGG) Conference
and 7th
Australasian Glycoscience Symposium (AGS)
It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 15th Asian Community of Glycoscience and Glycotechnology (ACGG 2026), which will be held as a joint meeting with the 7th Australasian Glycoscience Symposium (AGS) from October 3rd to 6th, 2026, at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) in Tsukuba, Japan.
Since its inception in Tsukuba in 2009, ACGG has grown into a unique international platform that fosters collaboration and knowledge exchange among glycoscience researchers across Asia. The first meeting brought together researchers from five countries, and through annual meetings (except during the pandemic), the community has expanded to include participants from more than 11 countries. Over the years, ACGG has played a central role in advancing glycoscience through open and collegial interactions in Asia.
ACGG 2026 represents an important turning point for the community, as it moves beyond its second full cycle of meetings and enters a new phase of development. This meeting is not only a continuation of our tradition but also a step toward the next stage of ACGG, aiming to strengthen international collaboration, promote interdisciplinary integration, and highlight the societal impact of glycoscience.
This joint meeting will bring together researchers from Asia and Oceania, creating a unique platform for cross-regional exchange and fostering a broader international glycoscience community.
Under the conference theme
“Interactive, Integrative, and More!”
we aim to encourage active discussions, cross-disciplinary integration, and forward-looking perspectives that go beyond conventional academic boundaries.
The meeting will include plenary and invited lectures, poster presentations, and opportunities for industry engagement, with a particular emphasis on supporting early- career researchers and fostering interactive discussions across disciplines.
We place particular emphasis on providing opportunities for early-career researchers and students to present their work and engage in international dialogue. We believe that empowering the next generation is essential for the continued development of glycoscience.
Tsukuba, known as Japan’s leading science city, provides an ideal environment for this meeting. Hosting ACGG 2026 at AIST also symbolizes our commitment to bridging fundamental research and real-world applications.
We sincerely hope that ACGG 2026 will serve as a vibrant platform for scientific exchange, collaboration, and inspiration, and we look forward to welcoming you to Tsukuba.
With warm regards,
The Organizing Committee

The 3rd GlyCosmos Jamboree will be held as an AIST-related satellite activity of ACGG2026 Joint AGS, as part of the JST Database Integration Coordination Program.
The GlyCosmos Jamboree is open to all researchers interested in glycoscience databases and related research areas. The activity aims to bring together researchers to discuss how glycoscience data resources can better support research communities in Asia, Oceania, and beyond.
As part of this activity, we particularly encourage participation from early-career researchers, including students and postdoctoral fellows, who are interested in contributing to the development and improvement of glycoscience databases.
As a benefit for selected GlyCosmos Jamboree participants, limited access to Sakura-kan, an AIST dormitory facility, may be provided at a low cost of JPY 1,700 per night.
Please note that Sakura-kan is not offered as general accommodation for ACGG2026 participants. It is available only to approved participants in AIST-related activities, such as the GlyCosmos Jamboree.
The number of available rooms is limited, and application does not guarantee accommodation. Selection will be made based on eligibility, availability, and the purpose of participation.
Applicants for this support are required to submit a Recommendation Letter from their supervisor.

ACGG 2026 welcomes cooperation with the Australasian Glycoscience Society (AGS). This support scheme is intended for active members of the Australasian Glycoscience Society.
ACGG 2026 will also be held in conjunction with the 7th Australasian Glycoscience Symposium, bringing together glycoscience researchers from Asia and Oceania.
In line with the ACGG Conference Policy, we aim to ensure fairness and accessibility for all participants, regardless of geographical origin or society affiliation. To support this principle, the Australasian Glycoscience Society is preparing a financial support scheme for its active members.
Under this scheme, active AGS members will be able to register at the same personal registration fee as participants from ACGG member countries. The difference will be covered by the Australasian Glycoscience Society as a subsidy.
The participant registration system is scheduled to open on June 1. AGS members will be asked to indicate their active AGS membership during registration.
Further details regarding eligibility, registration procedures, and the subsidy process will be announced on this page once finalized.
For questions regarding AGS membership or eligibility, please contact the Australasian Glycoscience
Society.
